Quick Chats: Gayle Wood

Posted August 7, 2015

Welcome to our Quick Chat series where we'll dive into the lives and minds of some of APT's best. Each interview will supply insights ranging from the obviously relevant to the vaguely insane. Sounds fun, right? Today we're chatting with APT's Administrative Assistant Gayle Wood!

Gayle has been with APT for the past three seasons and we'll be so sad to see her go at the end of this one. I think I speak for more than just myself in saying that I so appreciate her cheerful morning greetings, helpful hints, and honest interest in how the day is going. Thank goodness we got a Quick Chat in before her departure!

APT: You are jetting off to warmer climates and happier (nonexistent) winters. What will you miss most?
Gayle Wood: Family & friends. But it's not like I'm losing them. I'm simply providing an oasis destination for when their toes turn blue and they stutter because they can't stop shaking from the cold. Oh, and cheese curds and Spotted Cow.

APT: And along that same line of questioning, what are you looking forward to most?
GW: Everything! Every new person I will meet. Every new experience I will have. If you put yourself out there, there are no limits to what adventures await. And I can't wait to kayak with the dolphins and manatees.

APT: Walking into Bravo, you're sort of like the first line of defense - what's the silliest thing you've had to deal with at your post?
GW: We operate in a unique world, so I really can't think of anything. But when you say 'silly', I think of laughter and that I have an answer to. Every time DD (Actor/Education Director, David Daniel) walks by my desk. He pretends he is reading some unique article about why Wisconsin is better than Florida and why I should stay here and not move. Or he is singing some made up song of the same concept. (No offense to our Floridian patrons - he's just kidding) I am always laughing when he walks away.

APT: What always makes you smile?
GW: Memories.

APT: Would you rather eat half a tube of toothpaste every Monday or a wear turtleneck in that hot Floridian sun every Friday.
GW: I'm going for the turtleneck. That way when I walk past, people will say - What is she up too now!
