Accessibility

• The Touchstone and Hill Theatres are located a short walk from the parking lot.
• From the Gateway Building (Box Office) to the Hill Theatre is about a quarter-mile walk with an 85-foot elevation gain.
• From the Gateway Building (Box Office) to the Touchstone Theatre is about one-tenth of a mile with a 25-foot elevation gain.
• Shuttle buses to each theater are available for anyone who needs a ride from the shuttle stop at the east end of the parking lot. Shuttle service begins 45 minutes prior to show time. Please be at the shuttle stop at least 25 minutes before show time. Service resumes again immediately following the show.
• Please note that our shuttles are NOT wheelchair accessible, however the theaters ARE wheelchair accessible. Please call the Box Office for more information if you need wheelchair access. Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the show if you need wheelchair accessible parking.
• Accessible parking and a drop-off area are available near the shuttle stop, which is to the right as you enter the parking lot. If there is a parking attendant directing traffic, please let them know of your need when you arrive so they can direct you to the correct area.

• To book accessible seating, please contact the Box Office in advance of the performance.
• Wheelchair and walker-accessible seating, including companion seating, is available in both theaters. Patrons have the option to transfer to a theater seat, or remain seated in their wheelchair.
• Each theater has one courtesy wheelchair available to transfer patrons from their vehicle to their theater seats.
• Stair-free seating is available in both theaters. Please contact the Box Office for available options.
• Seating with a removable arm rest is available in both theaters. Please contact the Box Office for available options.
• Fully accessible restrooms are located at both theaters as well as in the Gateway building near the parking lot.
• Picnic tables with wheelchair access are available in the picnic area closest to the Shuttle Stop.
• Special stair-free versions of APT’s popular Inside Out tours are available on select dates. Tickets are subject to availability.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing Access

• Assistive listening devices and induction loop systems are available in both theaters. The assistive listening system amplifies the actors voices and brings the sound directly into patrons’ ears via a headset or compatible hearing device. Headphones, earbuds and induction neck loops (for patrons who use hearing aids and cochlear implants with a T-switch) may be borrowed from APT. When you reach the theater lobby, please see a House Staff member or Volunteer Usher to request a listening device. These devices are available free of charge. Ask your audiologist whether your hearing aid or cochlear implant has a T-switch and how to use it with an FM assistive device.
• Both theaters are equipped with an AuraCast BluetoothLE system. Audience members can access the performance's broadcast by connecting directly to your personal listening device. Ask your audiologist whether your hearing aid or cochlear implant has is BluetoothLE enabled and how to use it with the Auracast system.
• We recommend removing and turning off any hearing aids when using an assistive listening device with headphones. Wearing headphones over your hearing aids can cause distortion and create feedback.
• Frequently Asked Questions about APT's Assisted Listening Systems

APT is pleased to offer English language closed captioning for select performances, for patrons who are D/deaf, hard of hearing, or would benefit from seeing the text captions along with watching the performance. Captioning is not required for hearing individuals to enjoy these productions.

American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation by certified interpreters is scheduled for the select performances each season. If you'd like to more information about our ASL performances, please contact the APT Box Office.

Seats with the best view of the interpreter are in Section 6, rows H and back, and noted on the seating chart for each of these performances. The Box Office is happy to help you book seats in view of the interpreter.
