APT is located on 110 wooded acres just outside of Spring Green, Wisconsin. There are two stages: the 1,075-seat, outdoor Hill Theatre and the 201-seat, indoor Touchstone Theatre. June through October, APT offers 5 plays in the Hill Theatre, and 3 in the Touchstone Theatre, in rotating repertory.

About half of the audience picnics on the grounds before their performance, or after a matinee. You're welcome to pack your own picnic basket, bring something from one of the area restaurants, order from APT Concessions or order picnic dinners ahead, prepared by our friends at Hubbard Avenue Diner. There are plenty of picnic tables on property, and gas grills are available, first come, first served. APT has about 2.5 miles of hiking trails if you want to take a walk during your visit. Weather plays an active role at APT, from the birds and the bats, to the sun and the wind. And, sometimes, the rain. The play may continue in light rain, or be held during inclement weather. If rain is in the forecast, plan ahead and bring a rain jacket. Umbrellas aren't allowed in the Hill Theatre as a courtesy to other patrons. If you need a poncho, head to one of the Shops at APT.
