A Statement from "Blood Knot" Director Ron OJ Parson

The allegorical nature of the play is enhanced with this casting - wanting to take the play outside the realm of reality into an untypical reality of the world in scene 7. To go beyond the natural, and take us into an ethereal place that is “representative” of the world outside the shanty. To make the pivotal moment in that realm as real as possible, and make it representative of the execration of the apartheiders’ world that existed in South Africa at the time of the play.” It’s Allegory.
