Today at APT - 60 Days to Open

Posted April 7, 2011 By APT

Welcome to Today at APT. We are approaching our very busiest time of year here at APT. Our challenge is to blog on most of the next 60 days, and give you a little glimpse into the process of getting the season ready to go. Let us know what you think-and if you have questions you'd like us to answer. This week is usually the busiest week of the year for the Box Office, and this week is no exception. Emily, Tania, Stacy, Suzan and Chris are on the phone almost constantly helping customers. It should (hopefully) continue to get busier Thursday and peak on Friday. This is the last week that returning ticket buyers can buy tickets at the season's biggest discounts (do you have yours?). It's Wednesday, the day that the artistic staff has their weekly planning meeting. Selecting shows for the 2012 season is on the agenda these days - hard to believe since everyone is working so hard on 2011. At about the same time, the budget group, under the leadership of Controller Nancy Ring is upstairs going through the 2011 budget to make sure everything is on track (so far, so good). The maintenance staff is growing - adding a few seasonal members who will help the year-round crew get the property ready for the public. The maintenance staff is also finishing up working on a gift shop facelift - both uphill and downhill. More on that another day. So that's the snapshot - today at APT. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
