Please tell us about the Fall Art Tour.

The Fall Art Tour is three-day tour exploring the working studios of more than 60 unique artists. During the tour, artists will be in their studios, demonstrating and selling their work. These artisans include potters, painters, sculptors, weavers, jewelers, woodworkers, mixed-media artists and more. Many of these studios are open only for this event – providing a unique opportunity to meet the artists, learn about their artistic process, and purchase their work.

The 2024 Fall Art Tour takes place: October 18, 19 & 20 (Friday, Saturday & Sunday) and runs 10 AM- 6 PM all three days.

Please visit fallarttour.com for in-depth information including details on all the 2024 artists, places to eat and sleep, and a full tour map.

That's great! Can you share about how the Tour began?

The Fall Art Tour began in October, 1994. Initially the tour represented 27 artists but has since grown into something much, much bigger. This year marks the 31st annual Fall Art Tour and now hosts over 60 working artists in Mineral Point, Spring Green/Dodgeville, and Baraboo as well as the countrysides in between.

Very nice! Over those 31 years, what has made the experience one that people return to?

Visitors of the Fall Art Tour enjoy a behind the scenes look into some really interesting studios and will get to experience art being made right before their eyes. Visitors enjoy live demonstrations at each studio stop on the tour and are able to ask questions and learn tips and tricks of the trade in a one-on-one, face to face environment. The demonstration aspect of the tour is an exciting component that makes the Fall Art Tour unique from a traditional art fair. The environment and experience inside each studio is unique and authentic.

Each year, the Fall Art Tour draws visitors from all over the country to studios tucked away in the scenic hills around Wisconsin's art communities. In addition to the art, guests of the tour love driving around the winding vistas and rolling hills as they go from studio to studio. The beautiful River Valley/Driftless region of Wisconsin provides a perfect backdrop for a inspirational weekend adventure!

Describe the perfect fall day and how the Fall Art Tour can complement it.

A perfect day during the Fall Art Tour weekend would include meandering from studio to studio, asking questions, being inspired and taking home some wonderful, one-of-a-kind art! The day would start and stop at one of our cozy lodging establishments and would definitely include a pit stop (or two) at a café or restaurant for a mid-day lunch and a delicious dinner after a full day of experiencing local art.
