Dale Manning

Information Systems Manager

Dale Manning

After high school and a few different jobs, he decided to join the United States Marine Corps where he was introduced to the fundamentals of digital logic which we know now as a computer.

Computers as we know them today were not available by the time he left the Marine Corps so there were a few other careers where he dedicated himself. Dale worked in a factory, had his own mobile disc jockey service and managed a summer recreation program for young people. During this time he also had an opportunity to coach some high school and junior college sports teams.

As computers started showing up in small businesses, Dale was there to assist in setting them up and networking them together. He had his own business for a few years and then went to work for a computer business in Madison which led to working for a call center in Madison. When the call center was sold and his position phased out, Dale went to work for a company providing assistance for people getting connected to the Internet. Another challenge came his way when Grant Thornton, an international public accounting firm, was looking for someone to join their management consulting team. After a few years there, working with many interesting projects, American Players Theatre advertised for someone to head up their IT department. Dale started at APT after the 2000 season.
