Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet has inspired myriad works of art, from songs (Mark Knopfler's "Romeo and Juliet") to musicals (West Side Story) to paintings (too many to count, but well worth a look). And poetry. Because poetry thrums in the heartbeats of all star-crossed lovers, and these two more than most. But let's put Romeo aside for a bit. Juliet deserves some words dedicated just to her story - the one that is and the one that might have been. In the still moments between scenes in 2014 when Core Company actor Melisa Pereyra played Juliet at APT, she penned her own love letter to this character loved by so many.
