Stage Right, Stage Wrong: Laura Rook bleeds for her art

For American Players Theatre’s Laura Rook, the momentum continues to build. After a memorable turn as the doomed Desdemona in 2015’s “Othello” and anchoring a jaw-dropping end to last season’s slate in “Mary’s Wedding,” she’s launching into another summer of great roles in Spring Green.

Rook is currently onstage as Hippolyta in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” while prepping to play Roxane, the inspiration and love of Cyrano De Bergerac. Later in August she’ll appear as Olga in APT’s production of Chekhov’s “Three Sisters.”

She took a few minutes out of a busy rehearsal schedule to talk about acting memories both touching and bloody.
