Before they return to celebrate 45 years of APT this summer, let's check in with our Core Company to find out what they're up to this winter!
Missing your favorite APT actors? Here's what some of them are up to during the off-season, and where you might be able to see them showcase their talents this winter. Catch up on what's new and exciting in their worlds as we get ready to see them this summer!
Tracy Michelle Arnold: I’ll be returning to Indiana Repertory Theatre in January to begin rehearsing a play called THE FOLKS AT HOME which will run February 20 - March 16!
Nate Burger: I’m running “Proof” in the Touchstone until 11/19, after which Laura and I will be doing a decent amount of traveling in the winter to visit family and friends. Then, in March, I’ll start rehearsals for “Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead” directed by Charles Newell at Court Theatre in Chicago, which runs thru 4/21 and takes me right up to the start of the APT season!
David Daniel: After finishing up Proof
on November 19th, I’m heading back to classrooms around the state of Wisconsin – from Beloit to Rhinelander - bringing APT’s The Words Between Us and Potency of Poetry (PoPs) residency programs to students. And writing! Always writing!
Jim DeVita: I am staying home this winter and recovering from successful back surgery. :) I am also continuing my work as APT Literary Manager and working on a new book.
Tim Gittings: I'm taking a step back from things this off-season to focus on my health. Unfortunately, I've been dealing with a few issues that resist easy definition, but seem to seem line up with some post-COVID symptoms. So, this winter, I'm going to focus on rest, recovery, and building capacity before next season.
Of course, a critical part of recovery is playing good music, so I'll also be playing with my bands as much as I can! Speaking of which -*shameless plug*- you should definitely check out Violet Palms, and our first album, "Compassion Fatigue", on all the streaming services! You might just recognize the lead singer as well... (*ahem* Marcus).
Gavin Lawrence: The only thing that I am doing as of now is a workshop at the Goodman of a new play - Cephianne's Reflection by Mallory Raven-Ellen Backstrom, directed by Malkia Stampley in December. And writing and hoping.
Colleen Madden: I’m in Seattle, rehearsing Little Women at Seattle Repertory Theater. I’m seeing a lot of theater here, too! I’m here till mid-December, and then the show moves to Milwaukee, where it plays in January and February. In April, I’ll be doing What the Constitution Means to Me at Forward. I’m missing my three boys and my Spring Green pals.
Brian Mani: I will be spending time with grandchildren, daughters and families, traveling and researching and studying King Lear.
James Ridge: I’ll be traveling down to UAB (Univ of AL-Birmingham) in February to act, as a guest artist, in Two Gentlemen of Verona directed by one our voice and text coaches, Santiago Sosa. I’ll also be working with the students in a series of workshops.
Marcus Truschinski: I’m currently about to go into tech playing Tony Wendice in Dial M for Murder at Milwaukee Rep, then I’ll be playing Marc Chagall in The Flying Lovers of Vitebsk at Forward Theater. My band Violet Palms is currently planning on booking more shows in the winter/spring supporting our new album! We’ll be at Slowpoke for a New Year’s Eve bash, with more dates to come!
