Thea Thompson

Thea joined American Players Theatre in 2022, bringing over 10 years’ experience in nonprofit administration and fundraising. Originally from Iowa County, she grew up on her family’s dairy farm outside of Hollandale, WI (about 25 miles from Spring Green and where her family still lives today) and loved attending Student Matinees at APT when she was a student. Thea attended UW-Madison, majoring in anthropology and art history. She then moved to England and received her master's degree and doctorate, both in archaeology, from the University of Cambridge. After finishing school, Thea returned to Wisconsin and became involved in nonprofits and philanthropy, first as Executive Director of the Ephraim Historical Foundation in Door County and then as Associate Director of Development Operations for The Nature Conservancy in Wisconsin.

She is thrilled to be home in the Driftless Region of Wisconsin working to support and celebrate great art in our community. (she/her)
