American Players Theatre in Spring Green has released the schedule for its 2024 performances, all opening well after winter storms have passed and summer has made its debut.

The APT season will run June 8 through Sept. 29, starting with “Ring Round the Moon” on June 8 adapted by Christopher Fry from the play by Jean Anouilh, in the outdoor Hill Theatre. Other plays scheduled to run through much of the summer in the 1,075-seat outdoor venue include Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing” plus ”King Lear,” with APT core company actor Brian Mani in the title role, as well as August Wilson’s “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” and the Irish drama “Dancing at Lughnasa” by Brian Friel.

Productions scheduled for the 201-seat indoor Touchstone Theatre are making their first appearances on the APT stage, including the world premiere of “The Virgin Queen Entertains Her Fool” by Michael Hollinger, “Wolf at the Door” by Marisela Treviño Orta, and “Constellations” by Nick Payne. “Nat Turner in Jerusalem” by Nathan Alan Davis will be presented in the Touchstone Theatre in the fall.
