Sure, we'll see them again soon. But until then, get a heads up on what the APT Core Company is up to this winter and spring!

Missing your favorite APT actors? Here's what they're up to during the off-season, and where you might be able to see them showcase their talents this winter. Catch up on what's new and exciting in their worlds as we get ready to see them this summer!

Tracy Michelle Arnold: I'll be revisiting a show I did in the Touchstone in 2012, Shakespeare's Will, at Indiana Repertory Theatre. It runs mid March through mid April. APT Artistic Director Brenda DeVita is directing.

Kelsey Brennan: In November I was designated as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) by the International Coaching Federation. I received this credential after graduating from the UW-Madison Certified Professional Coach Program, completing 100+ hours of coaching, and passing the ICF credentialing exam. As a certified coach, I’m excited to work with clients to navigate through a challenge or transitional period, establish goals and pursue goals with less stress, build confidence, manage work/life balance, or simply to recharge and refocus. I’m also thrilled to apply this new knowledge in workshops offered by our Professional Development programs at APT.

Nate Burger: Nate is currently playing Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing at Milwaukee Rep from now through February 12. On February 6, experience Nate Burger's adaptation of Uncle Vanya during Winter Words on February 6, 2023.

David Daniel: As the days grow shorter and the snow piles up, David's adaptation of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra is set to premiere at Winter Words on February 20th. And his adaptation of Oedipus (2021) will open at Indiana Repertory Theatre on February 22.

As winter continues to wrap its icy arms around Wisconsin, David is busy working with APT's education teams to introduce their new residency- The Words Between Us to schools across the state, as well as bringing poetry to life in classrooms from Janesville to Rhinelander. Wisconsin, you have some fantastic young poets in your schools!

Jim DeVita: I am doing a play, Artemisia, at Forward Theater. I start rehearsing in March.

Tim Gittings: I'm currently directing a production of Much Ado About Nothing at Middleton High School. We've got a great group of young theater artists (including some ACT Camp students) and we are having a lot of fun putting this play together! Performances are Thursday, February 2nd, through Saturday, February 4th, at 7:30pm, in the MHS Performing Arts Center, in the Black Box theater.

The following Saturday (2/11), my band (Sugar Mama & The Rent Check) is playing a benefit concert at The Slowpoke Lounge and Cabaret for the Spring Green Musician in Residence program. The suggested donation is $5-10 and the music starts at 7:30pm. If there's anything I love almost as much as performing on the APT stage, it's playing sweet Rock-and-Soul music for a dancefloor full of folks having a fantastic time!

I hope y'all are having a cozy winter and I look forward to seeing you up-the-hill this summer!

Gavin Lawrence: The week of January 17, I will be workshopping a new play by Quan Barry entitled Per Asperal for Forward Theater. In February, I will continue working on my next draft of The Barber and the Unknown Prince for Winter Words.

Colleen Madden: Join Colleen at Overture Hall with the Madison Symphony Orchestra for Beyond the Score® on Sunday, March 19, 2023. She will be performing with James Ridge and Gavin Lawrence.

Brian Mani: In December Brian finished an Off-Broadway run of the play Boswell, written by Marie Kohler, his wife. The cast included other APT Alumni - Rebecca Hurd, Josh Krause, Phoebe González and Triney Sandoval. He will also be appearing in Winter Words on Feb. 6. Other than performing he’ll be visiting family and preparing for the upcoming 2023 season. Stay warm out there!

Melisa Pereyra: I’m working on understudying Jessica Chastain as Nora in Jamie Lloyd’s Broadway production of A Doll’s House. We have a peculiar understudy situation to accommodate for COVID. I understudy all three women in the show. I am Nora’s #1 understudy, Anne Marie’s #1, and Kristine’s #2. There are two women understudying all roles on a tiered system. This rotation is in place to allow for more than one cover should COVID lead us to that.

I am also still teaching at Boston University.

James Ridge: I’m performing in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf at Milwaukee Chamber Theater with Laura Gordon, Casey Hoekstra, and Kate Romond. Runs January 20-February 12.

Then I’ll be performing with the Madison Symphony Orchestra along with Colleen Madden and Gavin Lawrence on March 19. The remainder of the Spring will be spent in my favorite past time, watching my sons play soccer.

Marcus Truschinski: I will be in Airness playing the character Facebender at Forward Theater in January-February. It’s about Air guitar competitions!

Then, you can catch me as Captain Hook in Peter Pan with Children’s Theatre of Madison. It had to close because of the pandemic in 2020, so I’m excited to revisit it and have people actually see it! Both shows are at the Overture center.
