Today at APT - 48 Days to Open

Today was sort of a quiet day around APT; there weren't a lot of meetings and most people were either in their offices or out on the grounds preparing. The maintenance crew and carpenters are continuing their preparation for the season. Here in the office, Company Manager Carey Cannon has been making sure she's made contact with all of the actors and production staff that will soon begin arriving. She just wants to touch base, make sure she's in contact with everyone in case they have questions. Most people are relocating from large metropolitan areas to Spring Green for the season. It can be quite a shock if you don't know what to expect. Carey makes sure everyone knows what to expect. Likewise, Associate Artistic Director Brenda DeVita has been on the phone or email much of the day, checking in with people prior to their arrival. We've started the countdown. Many of the staff are taking some vacation time either this week or next week in preparation for the season. Once the shops start working (next week) and rehearsals begin (in two weeks), it will be full steam ahead until August when all eight shows are open. We need to be ready for the marathon. We will be.
