Today at APT—36 Days to Open

Posted April 30, 2011 By APT

Finally, it was a beautiful sunny day and it seemed like everyone on the APT campus was taking advantage of it. Of course, the maintenance staffwas working hard today, getting several "outdoor" jobs done on this perfect day. Also, Dundee McNair our director of operations, was busy preparing for tomorrow's annual Garlic Mustard pull. That's when several dozen volunteers make the trek to APT totry to make some headway in controlling the invasive weed that is so prevalent in this part of the country. Left to its own devices, it would choke out many of the other plants on the property. This annual event is a huge help to APT in keeping it under control. By the way, if you're not doing anything tomorrow and want to volunteer, feel free to stop by anytime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Earlier today up the hill on the stage, a crew of stage managers were "taping the stage." That means they were laying down strips of colored tape in the places where the scenery called for walls, doors, stairs, etc. This gives the actors an idea of how much space they have on stage -- a very important ingredient in the rehearsal process. With just three days before rehearsal begins, the stage management crew is going full steam. In the middle of the afternoon, ProductionManagerMichael Broh took a break from his work to give a tour of the property to another new group of employees. Similar tours with similar groups will be common over the next week as we all get to know each other, the APT property and the Village of Spring Green. The excitement rises a little bit each day.
