Exciting things are happening Up the Hill!

Right now is an absolutely wonderful time of year to be outside and the deck crew has already been busy at work these past few weeks preparing the Up Hill Theater for rehearsals. The stage has been dusted off and repaired from a long Spring Green Winter hibernation. The lights have been disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled for their yearly trip up to their show positions. And most recently, rehearsal scenery has started to make its way to the stage. Rehearsal scenery is like getting a temporary representation of what your actual scenery will function like. "Function" is the key word here as it looks nothing like what the audience will see when a show is playing. It's crude. It's un-polished. It doesn't want to fit where it is supposed to. It can be a bear to assemble and move- and we wouldn't have it any other way! What's really cool about rehearsal scenery is that it gives the director and actors an idea of the different playable levels and areas that they will eventually have. It also gives APT a chance to recycle old pieces of scenery until the new scenery can be assembled and brought to the stage. Check out some of the pics of the pre-rehearsal process!
