Learn more about what some Core Company members are up to and where to catch them this winter and spring.

We know it's only been a little less than a month since the final performance of our 45th season, but we already can't wait for the fun to begin again next summer. And while APT has entered our yearly hibernation, our amazing Core Company actors stay busy year-round with fun projects around the country. Read up on what they're excited for this winter and spring, and make a plan to see some awesome productions!

Tracy Michelle Arnold

Tracy is excited to have been added to APT’s year round staff, where in the off-season, she will serve as co-director of The Language Project (w/James Ridge), a program designed to impart skills to emerging professional actors who seek to engage with the poetic and heightened language plays on which APT was founded.

The Virgin Queen Entertains Her Fool, 2024.

Nate Burger

I'm doing Harry Clarke at Two Crows Theatre Company in Spring Green from January 16th-26th and then I'll be headed to Milwaukee Rep to play Friar Laurence and Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet from February 25th to March 30th. After that, onto the 2025 season!

Ring Round the Moon, 2024.

David Daniel

I'm staying busy working with amazing students and visiting classrooms around Wisconsin for APT Education. From February 20 - March 2, I'll be in A Number with Marcus Truschinski for Two Crows Theatre Company. And in my free time, I'm getting ready to direct A Midsummer Night's Dream for this summer.

August Wilson's Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, 2024.

Phoebe González

I’m reveling in holiday cheer at American Shakespeare Center in Staunton, Virginia with some much beloved APT folks Ron Román-Meléndez, Rasell Holt, and Molly Martinez-Collins! Playing Christmas Past (and countless other ensemble roles) in my first ever production of Christmas Carol has been a lovely way to finish out the year.

Constellations, 2024.

Josh Krause

I’ll be playing Torvald in Milwaukee Chamber Theatre’s production of A Doll’s House alongside Jennifer Vosters, a fellow APT alum. After that, I’m heading to Madison to appear in Forward Theater’s production of A Case for the Existence of God playing across from Jamal James, another familiar face to APT. Apart from working hard, my wife Rachel and I are planning our son Vinnie’s first birthday party. It’s gonna be a fun winter.

The Virgin Queen Entertains Her Fool, 2024.

Gavin Lawrence

I'll be performing in Birthday Candles at the City Theatre in Pittsburgh, then directing Topdog/Underdog at Milwaukee Chamber Theatre. And of course being daddy to our new son, Tèmídayọ̀, born on November 5th.

Nat Turner in Jerusalem, 2024.

Colleen Madden

Hi, folks! My October and November have been pretty calm, with odd jobs here and there. I have been substitute teaching a little at River Valley Schools, and I also assisted with a workshop in NYC. My two projects this winter are a theatrical piece called Ellis Island: Coming to America at Hamel Music Hall in Madison, December 5th; and then I’ll be performing Summer, 1976 at Forward Theater in January and February. Stay safe and love each other!

Dancing at Lughnasa, 2024.

Brian Mani

Brian is spending some time traveling with his wife, Marie. In February and March he will be performing at Next Act Theater in Milwaukee. The play is The Children. Marie will be directing the production and it will also feature Mary MacDonald Kerr and Shariba Rivers.

King Lear, 2024.

Melisa Pereyra

I will be wrapping up my big move from Boston to Chicago to start my teaching quarter at my new job as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Acting at Northwestern University! Excited to collaborate and teach alongside exceptional Latine leaders in the field like Sandra Marquez, Karen Olivo (KO) and Henry Godinez!

James Ridge

I’ll be performing with the Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble at UW Madison, December 5 at the Hamel Music Center. In January, APT will host The Language Project, created by Tracy Michelle Arnold and myself, designed for actors to explore, in a lab setting, heightened language text skills.

Much Ado About Nothing, 2024.

Laura Rook

I just finished directing Cinderella for young audiences at the Marriott Theatre just outside Chicago. We run through the end of December. I'll be back in Spring Green at the beginning of January working on The Language Project with Jim and Tracy and La Shawn Banks. After that, I'll be playing Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet at Milwaukee Rep this Spring.

Ring Round the Moon, 2024.

Marcus Truschinski

It’s already been a busy fall! I appeared in my first feature film, and just wrapped shooting on a short film that I’m helping to produce. My band Violet Palms is recording our second album, which should be out sometime next year! Phew! This winter I will be directing Nate Burger in a show called Harry Clarke at Slowpoke Lounge and Cabaret with my Theatre company, Two Crows, quickly followed by appearing alongside David Daniel in A Number by Caryl Churchill directed by Dee Dee Batteast in the Touchstone, also for Two Crows. Tickets are available now! I hope you’ll join us for our 2025 Season!
