Our Area Guide Spotlight series is back for 2024, and we couldn't be more excited to share these local stops and shops as you begin to plan your APT adventures for this summer.
In case you haven’t heard, this summer has officially been crowned Sandwich Season. Good thing our friends at Wander Provisions in Spring Green know a thing or two about how to make a sandwich you’ll be dreaming about for meals to come. Wander Provisions is a one-stop-shop for all the snacks and drinks you need to accompany your next summer adventure, and with their focus on local, Wisconsin-produced offerings, it’s a tasty way to support area farmers and producers while traveling the state by fork. Wander Provisions' grand reopening will happen next Thursday, May 23rd!

Share with us about Wander Provisions! What is it, and what delicious items do you offer?
Wander Provisions is a Wisconsin focused deli and specialty grocery in Spring Green. We utilize farm fresh ingredients to put together made to order sandwiches, salads, and grab and go options. Our grocery highlights small Wisconsin producers with cheese, meats, condiments, and pantry/freezer items. We also have an extensive collection of NA beverage options to choose from.
Can you give us a little background on how Wander Provisions came to be?
In the summer of 2020, at the height of the lockdown and with everything closed, we recognized the need for an outlet that focused on local farmers and producers in a readily available deli/grocery setting. The idea was to start an online ordering system to accommodate curbside pickups and now 3 years later, the shop has evolved and grown to the space we have today.
How did you decide on the name Wander Provisions?
Our tagline is "Go Outside. Take a Snack" - our food is for picnics, hiking, canoeing, or being on the river. Wander seemed appropriate.
What do your patrons enjoy most about their experience at Wander Provisions?
We have gathered the best of what Wisconsin, and the Spring Green area, has to offer by supporting the local foodways that make our area so special. We make it easy to experience and connect and we believe that's what our customers are looking for.
Tell us a little more about why Wander Provisions is a great fit for Spring Green and folks visiting APT!
We bring our community to the many visitors that frequent the area and provide another food option for locals, as well. We provide information, financial support, and an outlet to get the good word out about the farmers and producers we are lucky enough to have here.
Wander is designed with picnicking in mind and our website is available for preorders that range from sandwich picnics to cheese boards to mezze spreads.
Don 't want to preorder? We have a shop that is open 5 days a week full of NA beverages, a la carte options, and deli items that change seasonally.
