Sara has served as Managing Director since 2022, though she has been on the APT staff for more than 20 years, most of that time as Director of Communications. In her role as Managing Director, Sara is responsible for APT’s operational and administrative functions, including strategic leadership, Board relations, finance, education, marketing and development. She shares responsibility with Artistic Director Brenda DeVita for creating and executing the strategy to fulfill APT’s mission. Sara has a BA in Theater from the University of Northern Iowa, and she began her career as a stage manager in Chicago, Milwaukee and Madison before moving into theater administration. Before coming to APT, Sara was Director of Marketing and Development at Madison Repertory Theatre. Sara lives in Spring Green where she is a proud member of the River Valley School Board. She also enjoys directing the annual River Valley High School musical. Sara would like to thank APT’s extraordinary staff and amazing audience for making APT thrive.
