Ryan M. Prendergast is an Assistant Teaching Professor at Carnegie Mellon University and currently serves as Director of Undergraduate Studies for the School of Music. He teaches courses in dramaturgy, opera history, and musical theater history. Fusing theatre studies and musicology, Dr. Prendergast has presented his work at national conferences of the Modern Language Association, the Association for Theatre in Higher Education, the American Musicological Society, the Mid-America Theatre Conference, and the International Richard Strauss Society. His research has been published in the Richard Strauss-Jahrbuch, The Wagner Journal, and in collected volumes from Cambridge University Press and edition text+kritik.
