Fair warning: This is one of those plays. You know the ones. Slightly obscure and fully not to be missed. A hilarious escape hatch from the mundane, set in an otherworldly Paris where everything is both explosively theatrical, and finely tuned to its simplest self. Players include The Ragpicker, The Street Singer, The Baron, The Broker. And at the center, the Madwoman herself. She is outlandish and dangerous and delightful to the extreme – much like the story that surrounds her. Yet, when distilled to its essence, this is a play about the things that make life worth living. Nature. Kindness. Art. Each a type of madness we could use a little more of. twisty and twisted comedy with a cast that’s prepared to embrace the pandemonium.
Featuring Tracy Michelle Arnold, Kelsey Brennan, David Daniel, Sarah Day, Jim DeVita, Tim Gittings & Brian Mani
Runs July 31 - October 3
Paris has been overrun with corrupt executives looking to capitalize on the oil they believe is beneath the city; a belief that has no basis in reality. When the plan comes to the attention of the eccentric Countess Aurelia, she fights her way out of her routine, gathers her wits and a batty clan of townspeople and like-minded Madwomen. Together, they hatch a plan to save their beloved city by any means necessary. A funny and ruthless social satire.
