In Love and In Dreams
As summer melts to autumn, the Touchstone stage lights up with a story about first love. That reckless, unfettered kind of love that heats skin and halts breath. Two wanderers meet in a deserted barn. Speed off on a galloping horse, unstoppable, through the rainy night, toward their happily ever after. But World War I beckons; it's a siege in need of soldiers. In need of horses. In need of people capable of throwing caution to the wind. Leaving in their wake only dreams of future plans and distant, stormy nights.
In the intimacy of our indoor space, the poetry of this play will fill your heart - a final, poignant surprise to extend your APT season. Featuring Nate Burger and Laura Rook, and directed by APT Artistic Director Brenda DeVita.
Play Summary:
Mary and Charlie embody a love that rings sweetly true from its very beginning. Unfortunately, world events have little consideration for such things, and the lovers part as Charlie joins the war effort, leaving Mary alone with her dreams. An exquisitely personal examination of the cost of war.
