Joshua Castille (He/Him)

Joshua Castille is a Deaf performance artist based in Chicago, Illinois, known for bold storytelling, big-hearted collaborations, and a flair for connecting with audiences—both Deaf and hearing. Whether he’s serving as an ASL master, directing, acting, or designing a set, Josh thrives on projects that push the boundaries of what performance can be.

Originally from Louisiana, Josh studied at Gallaudet University before being cast in Deaf West’s groundbreaking revival of Spring Awakening. The show took him from Beverly Hills to Broadway—and even to the Tony Awards stage—where he sharpened his craft alongside industry giants and lifelong collaborators.

Since then, Josh’s work has spanned community stages to network television, short films to music videos, commercials to collaborative workshops. He’s performed with artists like BD Wong, Marlee Matlin, Camryn Manheim, Russell Harvard, Michael Arden, American Authors, and Ingrid Michaelson, always bringing his signature blend of precision, play, and heart.

Rooted in his Cajun upbringing, Josh brings warmth, curiosity, and generosity to every room he enters. He believes everyone has a voice—and his mission is to make sure it’s heard, however it’s expressed. For more visit Joshuacastille.com
