Edgar Miguel Sanchez
Acting Apprentice
Edgar Miguel Sanchez was born in Dominican Republic and raised in Miami, Florida. He attended The Theater School at DePaul University where he received his BFA in Acting and a minor in Sociology. He spent a year in rep at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in 2008. He spent six months in upstate New York, where his wife, Maria Chaves, is currently finishing her PhD studies. He returned to Chicago in the fall of 2009 where he has spent the last two and a half years acting in over twelve plays. Notable Chicago credits include: Twelfth Night, Welcome to Arroyos, 1001, Brothers of the Dust and The Ghost Is Here. Most recently he helped found the Sankofa Theatre Company, an experimental theater company dedicated to un-produced/rarely produced works dealing with persons of color, for which he serves as the Executive Director.
