Same Woods, new branch

Call it a testament to the power of nature. Even in this, our recently completed indoor facility, the beauty of our southwestern Wisconsin surroundings threatens to steal the show. But the threat ceases the moment the big sliding doors shut, dividing the intimate theater from the views offered by those huge windows. Indeed, at that point, not even Mother Nature can wrest away the shared focus of actors and playgoers alike. Which is exactly the point: we built the Touchstone to intensify the particular intoxication of APT. Actors this good, this studied, this serious, sinking their teeth into material this purposefully selected, and having at it in a facility so beautifully designed. The result? Conflict is amplified (ask anyone who saw Long Day’s Journey Into Night at the Touchstone in 2009). Comedy is sharpened. And, above all, an unparalleled level of intimacy is achieved.
