A blue collar actor. A practical artist. And, before that, a mumbler. This is how playwright, author and APT core company member Jim DeVita describes himself. In this adaptation of Sir Ian McKellen’s 1987 one-man show, In Acting Shakespeare tells the story of DeVita’s journey from fishing boats to the theater, revealing along the way that his biggest hurdle was convincing himself he was smart enough to understand Shakespeare.
Through October 4.
In Acting Shakespeare is freely adapted from the play Acting Shakespeare, originally compiled and written by Ian McKellen for his 1987 tour of the USA.
