Online Ordering is on the Mend
| 2:07PM.March 11th, 2010
I posted a blog last week about some problems we've been experiencing in our on-line ordering. I'm happy to say they're on the mend.
We still have some issues to work out -- some behind the scenes and some that may still show up in the buying process. But overall, things are improving quite a bit.
Here's a summary of what we've been working on:
1) The process to change your password: Since new security guidelines have been put in place, there are new requirements for passwords. You may be asked to reset your password before you order. We've worked with the software developers and think this is much more user-friendly than it was last week. Here's the new process:
- When you click "Forgot Password" or if you need to reset your password, the system sends you an email.
- In that email, click on the link for "reset my password." That will open a page that will prompt you to choose and confirm the new password.
- Once that's complete, you will go to your account page. At that point, click the "My Basket" button to go back to your basket and finish the transaction.
One other important note about passwords: If you type your password incorrectly three times, the system locks you out for 30 minutes (unfortunately...this is dictated by the software). So, if you're not sure of your password, it would be easier to click "forgot password" and reset.
2) Performance Slowdown: This was perhaps the most frustrating issue for us, but we believe it is now solved and that the speed of ordering should be comparable to what it has been in past years.
3) Other issues: If you have trouble ordering online, please call the box office at (608)588-2361 or email boxoffice@americanplayers.org. Our staff will get in touch with you as soon as possible and help you with your order. Many thanks to those of you who have been in touch and have let us know your ordering issues. It's made a big difference in helping us to fix them as quickly as we can. Or if you just want to tell us your experience, feel free to leave a comment here.
As always, thanks for your patronage. Looking forward to sharing the season with you.
