Residencies

Shakespeare Residencies

APT conducts both introductory and in-depth workshops on a number of Shakespeare’s plays using multi-media and active participation. We guide students through the life and times of an Elizabethan, how actors use text, play themes and synopsis, as well as staging various scenes.

Available to accompany the following plays: Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, Hamlet, Julius Caesar, A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Literature Residencies

We help teachers and students to explore relationships and themes, in new and thought-provoking ways by using proven theatre techniques to explore literature both visually and dynamically.

Available to accompany the following texts: The Great Gatsby, All Quiet on the Western Front, Beowulf, The Scarlet Letter, Huckleberry Finn, The Greeks

Creative Dramatics

Creative Dramatics is a process rather than a product, and is uniquely geared toward grades K-5 with advanced level exercises for grades 6-8. Creative Dramatics is learning through theatre rather than learning about theatre.

Sample programs include: Imaginative Play, Teamwork, Bullying, Problem Solving

Fees

Prices vary according to the length of the program and the number of students involved– from $300 for an hour and a half to $1500 for a full-week residency. APT recognizes the fiscal restraints of most organizations in recent years, and it is our commitment to provide outreach to as many groups as possible. We are happy to help guide you in pursuing state and national grant sources.
