World-class theater in the wI woods
Special events and offers for our friends from south of the (Wisconsin) border.
In the simplest terms, American Players Theatre is a classical theater in the woods near the village of Spring Green, Wisconsin. But it’s hard – impossible, even – to describe APT in simplest terms.
The outdoor amphitheater Up the Hill sits beneath the stars in a setting of extraordinary beauty: a thrust stage and 1,148 seats in an acoustical bowl ringed by towering trees. Down the Hill, the 201-seat indoor Touchstone Theatre is nestled between prairie and woods.
And what happens on stage is equally extraordinary. We’re not alone in this claim – we’ve had independent confirmation. For instance, “APT…sets high artistic standards and maintains them with effortless consistency.” (The Wall Street Journal)
When you put it together – this amazing place, these amazing plays – and combine it with friends, a picnic, a weekend away from the city exploring this area, you’ll realize that you’ve come to a special place.
These weekends include:
- Exclusive ticket discounts: 2 plays for $84, 3 plays for $120 or 5 plays for $189
- Complimentary admission to our Bard Talks workshop series
- Welcome brunch with members of the acting company and artistic staff
- The Spring Green Passport Card, with special deals and offers on shipping, dining and activities.
Join the ranks of those before you who discovered world-class theater in the woods, in a setting reminiscent of the Tuscan countryside, all within a 3 ½-hour drive of Chicago.
