Director, The Tempest
James is honored to do his 15th production for APT. Since 1996, when he began with Moliere's The Misanthrope, James has directed three plays by Shaw (including Candida), The Importance of Being Earnest by Wilde, last summer's production of The Circle by Somerset Maugham and ten of Shakespeare's plays including The Merchant of Venice, Henry V, Henry IV-The Making of a King and this summer's The Tempest. He recently stepped down as founding Artistic Director of Remy Bumppo Theatre Company in Chicago for which he has directed 31 plays, including six by Tom Stoppard, three by Bernard Shaw, plays by Beckett, Chekhov, Fugard, Vidal, and two by Edward Albee, including this past spring, The Goat. With some friends he recently opened Arcadia Books, a bookstore and cafe in downtown Spring Green.
