James is delighted to return for his 19th season. He recently directed Private Lives and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead for APT. He has directed many plays by Shakespeare here, including The Tempest, Love's Labour's Lost, The Merchant of Venice,both parts of Henry IV, and Henry V. He has directed three plays by Bernard Shaw, including Candida and Arms and the Man, and plays by Oscar Wilde, Somerset Maugham, and Heroes (adapted by Tom Stoppard). He is Founding Artistic Director of Remy Bumppo Theatre Company in Chicago where he directed over 30 productions in 15 seasons. James splits his time between Chicago and Spring Green, where he is the happy owner of Arcadia Books, a bookstore and cafe, downtown.
